Professional Bio
Dr. Ned Nix is a graduate of UC Davis and the Pacific-Dugoni School of Dentistry (1995). He earned his GPR and OMS specialty certificates at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, a Columbia University teaching hospital, in NYC, and earned his MA in Education with emphasis in Dental Education from the Gladys Benerd School of Education at UOP (2015).
Dr. Nix is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery and is a full-time Associate Professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at UOP. His interests are pre-doctoral curriculum development in OMS, dental ethics and leadership.
He has lectured on topics including Ambulatory Anesthesia, Odontogenic Infections, Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma, Medically Compromised Patients, Orthognathic Surgery, Pharmacology, Dentoalveolar Surgery, Implantology and Dental Ethics.
Dr. Nix has served as the President of the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, President of the Santa Clara County Dental Society, and President of the Delta Delta Chapter of OKU. He served as Chair of the Northern California Section of the American College of Dentists, and Regent, Regency 7 for the American College of Dentists. He is the Vice President of the American College of Dentists.
